Since 2007, The Poetry Barn has nurtured poetry education, inspiration, and appreciation by sponsoring community and virtual events, affordable workshops, and a comprehensive lending library freely accessible to the public. Nestled in the foothills of Catskill Park in Hudson Valley, surrounded by the protected lands of the Ashokan Reservoir, we take nature as inspiration, and act as a pollinator habitat for poetry and its sister arts.

The Poetry Distillery is an online poetry journal resulting from The Poetry Barn’s workshops and programs. We seek to publish a diverse sampling of the strongest, most exciting work in our community, and work with our authors to distill their poems to perfection as an extension of the workshop process.
